Faux Spring Stems to Freshen Up Your Rooms

Who else is ready for spring?! As someone who is perpetually cold, I welcome a warmer season like I’m twirling through the alps in The Sound of Music.

Fortunately, you don’t have to wait until the buds are blooming in your neighborhood to add some new stems to your home. I am so excited for a seasonal refresh with some spring decor!

While I love adding greenery from my yard, when nothing is in bloom quite yet, there are so many faux stems on the market now that look highly sophisticated and realistic. It’s really incredible, honestly! They’ll last for years, so it’s a no-brainer to me to get some that you love to fill your vases.

So what should you look for in spring floral arrangements? For my taller, more stately vases, I like to balance them out with an angular, leggy element, such as a few leaf sprays, which often look highly realistic. These look great in formal dining rooms!

A favorite for mid-size vases is a touch of spring colors against a darker leaf. It adds some gravitas to the arrangements. Magnolia stems offer this balance so well, whether the flower is more rose-hued or creamy white. Or a grouping of fluffy hydrangeas can work really well too. I’ll add these to my living room in the middle of the seating area surrounded by my favorite coffee table books.

When I look at my shortest vase arrangements, I think peonies and lilacs in whites and purples work really well together — especially in multiples. Go ahead and get several of the same variety for your vase. I love to add these to a nightstand. It feels like you’re in a bed & breakfast, and who doesn’t love that?
