Travis Kelce set for a part in Adam Sandler’s ‘Happy Gilmore’ sequel

Earlier this year Netflix confirmed that Happy Gilmore the beloved 1996 comedy starring Adam Sandler, would finally be getting a sequel. The streaming service announced that move at their “upfronts” in New York City back in May.

Sandler set to reprise his role as the title character, stopped by The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday night and talked about the sequel. Sandler mentioned that in addition to professional golfers being involved with the film, which will be shot in New Jersey, there will be several cameos.

Including one from Travis Kelce:

This will not be Kelce’s first foray into acting, as he hosted Saturday Night Live back in March 2023. He also appeared in an episode of the Showtime series Moonbase 8 back in 2020. There was also of course Catching Kelce, the dating show that aired on E! back in 2016.

The Happy Gilmore sequel is also just one of a few projects that Kelce is working on away from the field. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end will make his television series debut in the upcoming FX series Grotesquerie which premieres in September. He is also reported to have a role in an upcoming feature film Loose Cannons, which will be his first feature film starring role.

Kelce is also slated to host the game show Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? for Amazon, a series that premieres in October.

In between all of this? Kelce will be helping the Chiefs try to make NFL history, as they look to become the first team to win three straight Super Bowls while supporting his partner with her musical career.

You know, Taylor Swift.
